The association of shareware professionals has a ready made download site that can be easily modified to suit your needs. It supports PAD file submissions and also has a PAD file parser that goes out and looks for the latest version of the programs on your site and with a few lines of code you can ensure that you do not have duplicate listing of the same files. I based one of my sites off of this script without any issues and the hardest part of maintaining it is checking the submission que each day for new submissions.
Well I build it. I had to code it myself bcoz there was no script available for it. But you can try searching for "Software Catalogue Engine" in google it is the keyword for which we should search. Thanks I hope it helps.
Okay. Now back to will.spencers point. Sir, If you havent; found anything then let me know I will try and guide you for your project.
Don't worry too much about me. I'm still gathering requirements and absorbing everything you guys are talking about.
hey guys, sorry if I bumped this one I found it via search engine. I have a costume download site script and I am willing to sell licenses soon. It comes with all your needs, admin panel, great design and a lot of features. It's gonna cost around $50-$100. You'll see it soon...
I had forgotten about this thread. I had a simple download site script written, and then I changed my mind about running a download site. The script is online at http://www.tech-faq.com/download/download-manager.tar.gz It is available at no cost, AS IS.
