Download file from remote server with resume support

I am trying to stream a download (for instance - download from http://example.com/file.rar) and stream it with resume support.

I found this topic, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=998670
but the post by subkid doesn't resume the download. Can anyone help ?

Resume is hard, try using CURL instead and write code for your selve

I cant find your name in comments and suppose i get transfer with cURL working, how to make it resume ?

curl method is definately the way to go
