Download Alexa's Top 1,000,000 sites list for free!

    Hello Everyone,

    I happened to notice this the other day while looking at some traffic stats for a site. You know how you can look at their Top 500 sites list for free? And they used to charge for the rest of it?

    Well now you can download the top 1,000,000 site list for free (as of 2/02/09)!

    Go here and look on the left column where it says 'Free Download' and click on the Top 1,000,000 Sites. Here's the direct link: link. The file is 20 MB so it's kind of a pain to navigate.

    I'm not sure how long they'll have this, so if your interested you better go over and get it.

    Yeah, I think it says it's updated daily; The list fluctuates quite a bit during the day most likely, but it at least gives people an idea of finding out about sites with high traffic on them.

    lol wow. I just noticed too. :) My site is showing something like 5+million on main details, but 151k on the list :eek:

    My site is on top 280483 (the one that I download)
    but after checking my alexa on my site, it is 391 766

    which is true?

    I would agree.
    My (3 mos. Avg.) alexa rank has been sitting at 41,133 for ages.
    The downloaded list shows it at 36,492

    Pardon my ignorance... but what exactly are you supposed to do with the top sites list.. I can understand list of no follow blogs or high ranked sites for back linking but what should one do with sites ranking high in Alexa...

    True, but I am sure there are more accurate reports if advertisers need them. Still a good idea though.
