Well eventually yes you will , but also remember vista is not like xp , even in its initial stages , it was a new technology after 2k pro . Developers started developing for xp that moment and the xp bugs were fixed really fast. And Vista, ah... Vista well its development took years , bugs not fixed till yet, not many developers developing for it , the list goes on.. To be honest Vista is not a worthy predecessor to xp , not yet , maybe in a year or so but not yet.

About the query well , its not possible , microsoft cant refund or exchange the OS , there is a plan that comes with laptops/desktops these days , for example at dell ; If you see the list of their products you will see an option like : Customize with Xp and Customize with Vista . So you should have BOUGHT a laptop with xp.

    Have a nice day.

I don't ever remember XP being being bad like Vista is. XP was "different" in looks, but that only took a few seconds to fix.

Just buy a Windows XP OEM disc, you can get a legal unused version of XP for as little as £15 (approx $30), you just don't get books or support included with it, you get the CD and the license key and sticker. But I guess that's the cheaper option.

XP was never as bad as Vista. Vista is ME quality, at least when you went to XP from 98 you got some useful features.

Try buying an OEM version of Windows XP from your retailer, & ask them to reinstall XP on that laptop. MS won't do it for free.
