Doubt on incoming links in my blog

    Hi guys,
I wrote a couple of articles about my niche and posted them in two different sites with backlinks to my blog. Both the article pages have been indexed by Google. However, when I check the Incoming Links section in my blog, I don't see any links from these sites at all. What could be the reason?

I checked those sites for broken links and stuff like that, but nothing is wrong. The links are perfectly fine and they are dofollow links. But still, they don't show up in my Incoming Links section. What could be the problem? Does that mean that the links are ineffective or stuff like that? Could someone explain?

    Here's my blog.

How long has it been? Pages are indexed faster than links, especially Google updates backlinks after a specific time period, while pages are indexed within 12 hours even. So wait and see, if your articles are on high traffic or well known sites like ezinearticles or so, then it'll probably take a week or so for links to be identified by search engines. This period will be prolonged in case of less known sites.

What incoming links section of your blog are you talking about? To get a better measure of backlinks use Yahoo Site Explorer.

    Guys,
I'm talking about the 'Incoming Links' section in the dashboard of a wordpress blog. When you log in to your WP blog, you go to dashboard, in which you see this section in the right hand corner.

I'm absolutely sure that they are dofollow links. I checked them.

What could be the reason? I'm just wondering???

Older versions of WordPress linked to Technorati. Newer verions link to Google Blog Search. If the sites you published your posts to aren't blogs, neither will show them as inbound links to your site.
