I have created accounts in about 100 do follow forums, since I couldnt be able to participate in all these forums, so I wanted to know if by just putting signature links in the forum helps, or we have to post and comment for getting backlinks.
Hey, You will have to post and comment, otherwise your links will be only visible on your member page. Posting will spread out your signature and therefore get the hits and be seen by bots such as Google
It depends on the forum setting done by the administrator. Technically building links from forum profile page is called profile link building. To answer the thread: Yes, you need to post comments in order to get backlinks.
^ Yeah right depends on the forums.. Well, much better if you stayed active in at-least 10 to 20 do follow forums.. If you participate then it has a big change that you link signature will be indexed by Google.
There is also an interesting thing, depending on the forum, if your signature changes or not in old posts if you change it this very day. I mean, let's say you have a signature to site 1 and then after 10 posts with this signature you change it to site 2. What will be the old signature, will it remain to site 1 or will it be changed to site 2?
Of course POSTING are much better than just creating profile pages, but it is more time consuming process, but anyway, profile pages links are good to, indexing very well in Yahoo. But if you think siriously about getting anything from Forum posting, you should think about thousands of posts, not hundreds.
yes if you post people can see you have authority and will be more interested on what links you have, rather than someone who justs sets lots of profile pages up.
Hi, profile links if you not got time. Whilst commenting would be make you much more visible to google.
unless you post you wont have sigs shown. posting links on the comment isnt a good thing; in most cases that would be spamming leading to banning.
It's just like.. say you plant a tree. If you give good care it will give you more benefits. That's it. In my opinion doing some posting will give support to your profile there.
It depends on how many back links that you want. If you want a lot, then I suggest posting and being active on the do follow forum. But, some forum administrators disables profiles to be seen by guests, so I suggest posting in the forums that are visible to guests so that you links can be indexed on google,
Yes they do help for backlinks. A suggestion would be to make about 10 quality responses on each forum as we know multiple links from the same IP are devalued. After 10 posts on each forum, which you could realistically do in about 2-3 days of quality work, if not more quickly, you'd have 2,000 backlinks. Not bad huh?
so in reality, does forum posting actually count as link building once its indexed through search engines?
Yes it does and managed and handled correctly can be a very useful part of any link builders armoury. Sadly as practised by most people, most don't get out of it the benefits that they should.
I think you need to post to the forums with the links. Backlinks are given importance because the search engine believes you are an authority in a particular area because of the backlinks. If you do not post content to the forums the idea behind the backlinks is defeated and sooner or later you will get caught because you can fool a system only that much.
If nobody even knows that you are a member of the forum, they will not click on your profile page. In this case, your profile link is as good as non-existence.
