Doubled My CTR Overnight, Will This Get Me Banned From Adsense?

I just recently heard that placing an image next to or near your adsense ads is against adsense policy.

    Is this true?

I've since removed the image (which was very much related to the adsense ads).

By the way, my CTR almost doubled when I had that image next to the ads.

you can't judge placement change in 1 night

you have to compare 1 week to one week or 1 month to another

the change in the CTR might have another reason like a new appealing ad shown new to te site and attracted your visitors to click on it ;)

It is against their rules when you put an image next to the ad.

Only if your site was selected as premium you can then do that. But you would need to have over 20 million impressions to a single site then.

Yes, dont put images next to them, not even for a day, they will catch it, and then send you a warning letter, but its a proven fact that pictures next to add will increase CTR>

Uh, no, they're reading it correctly, he said it was doubled when he had it next to his ads, not when he removed it.

It all depends upon how the ads are positioned, images near the ads aren't an automatic banning.

Images next to ads is a very thin line :), indeed....
And if you just put images randomly, it doesn't mean it will increase the CTR.
But if you have a gadget based site, and you show gadget images next to the ads, since Google will most likely show up gadget based ads, the images becomes a honeypot..

But if the images and the ads don't match, it becomes an eyesore.
We blend Ads in the site so that the ads don't LOOK like ads. Put an Irrelevant image next to it, and you are shouting loudly that I am AD..

In such a case removing the ads would be much better.

Um, it's not a "very thin line" it's a simple matter of "do it and get banned".

if the impression is not too high , it will not a problem. for example , 3 impression and 3 or 4 click is not a big problem
