Greetings, I've just put the horizontal adlinks format just under my logo(fixed frame). It got a doubled ctr against the small button boxes I used to have in the right fixed frame. I've been always sceptic abt adlinks because of the nature of the ads. But visitors seems to appreciate it. And they are showed the best paying words first... I thought this might be of some help to someone else sceptic like me over adlinks. I have had to (happily) change opinion...
I was using ad links at my blog site, the CTR is VERY low. I removed it and add in new horizontal link units, the CTR is about 5 times of ad links!
Yes this is definately true. Horizontal makes the difference. and horizontal under the logo is still better.
It did nothing for me had a adlink block on the right of my site and moved the new adlinks format to the top. http://www.dividendpage.com
Sjorritsma The ads are a little hard to notice. I noticed 2 things - 1. You might want to try the "4-ad format", which gives you a bigger font size. 2. You might want to increase the contrast - right now you have black text on a dark gray bachground - you might want to try lightening the background of the ad text. Just a couple of thoughts - hope this helps.
Putting them under your real horizontal nav menu will get lots of clicks in my opinion. It won't look very good though... Other than that I don't like the big ads by google on the left, it seems to draw the eye too much.
Seems like the horizontal adlinks is doing well for most of you here. I still do not try it, because the vertizal adlinks still doing well for me.
Alang, it can't hurt to try.. if the CTR goes down a lot, switch it back I just tried the horizontal adlinks as well.. its been awesome! CTR has doubled vs regular adsense.. it was very very low to begin with, so every little bit helps. Revenue increased almost 5-fold Josh
