Every so often I notice that, for about a week straight, customers will make double and sometimes triple purchases within minutes of eachother. At first I thought the customer is making the purchase, and then accidentally clicking the "back" button only to be charged a second time. This kind of stuff makes my refund rates go up, and it's not really a problem because they only get a refund for the extra charges, but I am starting to wonder if Clickbank needs to add more servers to their system. Im starting to think that during certian weeks of the month, Clickbank gets so backed up that their delivery pages go screwball and the customers get confused, or maybe the transaction processes but they never get sent to the delivery page so they make a second purchase. Has anybody else had this problem lately?
Yes same thing happens to me. happens about once or twice a week, but I've never had a triple purchase.
I had a sale for a product, about a week later - same product, same first and last name and location, same payment type. No refund request (yet?) but hopefully the buyer was aware of what went on.
I think double purchases happen because some vendors have terrible thank you pages. Costumers can't find what they pay for and they will try to go through the purchase a second time to see if that brings them any luck.
This happened on one of my products about two weeks ago. I had one person pay or get charged for a product 7 times and another person buy the same product and get charged 3 times. The excess purchases were all refunded by cb the next day, but it was still shocking to see.
I occasionally get a double purchase. I immediately refund the second one and email the customer to explain. Normally they are very happy with the service. The alternative is waiting until they get their bill. Then they come to get a refund, see how easy it is and process 2 refunds, not just 1.
Yes, I also saw cases when these triple and double purchases were overlooked and became a double and triple chargeback which sucks big time!. (18$ fee for each chargeback) Im i am guessing that its so common that clickbank actually created a special topic for it under the refund ticket (reason= double purchase).
Yes I agree with this, or another thing that happens is if they have to download winzip for instance to open the file and the link does not open to a new window, then they end up clicking away from the thank you page and not being able to get back!
I just did a double purchase yesterday to activate my new clickbank account. I didn't follow through to the download page because I knew it would work and it didn't activate the account. had to do it again. I believe I was only charged once though. I also get customers with double purchase, no triples though. Mike
