There is no chance for .com to be beat. If you were to poll the average (non webmaster) Internet user on web addresses, I would venture to say that the majority would add .com to the address. When I am looking for a company I know has a website but I am not sure of the correct address, I first type in the company name.com. All those you mentioned will only be good for the niches they promote. I do not see them good for anything but porn.

Your logic makes no sense. If all names were taken, that means that all names with other extension will already be used by a .com. That means that when people are looking for you, they will most likely type in .com and divert your traffic to a competitor. This more than ever would mean that .com is king.
