Scenario, a company wants to advertise on one of my sites which is fine, however they would pay a lot more to take it further and have the page branded so it looked more like their site because this page does well for their term "widgets" and when search traffic arrived they would like it to feel like they had arrived at their site rather than clicking across to it. I could let them advertise no problems, however if I let them effectively rent the page and it had their design would this be classed as a doorway/bad move by google in your opinion?
Think of it as an affiliate page on your website, the only difference is that you are getting paid a fixed monthly fee rather then a CPC or a Per Lead or Per Sale.
Cheers, I know they rank well as is the case here, I just wondered whether it was ethical..bah ethical ..take the money said the little voice inside.
I prefer "Visitor Landing Pages" BTW the term doorway pages is very overused. In many cases the difference between a real page and a doorway is a little bit of content and maybe a nicer looking design.
