I just notice that when I Google my site for a 'keyword phrase', Google picks up my title tag, but uses my description text from ODP. Then the reverse happens when I Google my website name. Google picks up my 'Title Listing' in ODP and uses my live website desciption. For example: here is the title and descript. code for my homepage: title: Virginia Web Design Company | VISIONEFX description: Top-notch custom website design solutions for business | VISIONEFX Now here is my ODP listing: title: Visionefx Web Design Development description: Web design company. View services including web site design, search engine marketing, e-commerce, web hosting and marketing. Google the phrase; 'virginia web design' you get - Virginia Web Design Company | < live site title tag VISIONEFXWeb design company. View services including web site design, search engine marketing, e-commerce,... < ODP description Google Visionefx you get - Visionefx Web Design Development < ODP title tag Top-notch custom website design solutions for business | VISIONEFX. < live site description Each time Google interchanges the title tag and desciption text with ODP and vice-versa... I know that Google crawls ODP, but I am curious if anyone else is seeing this mixing of their title tag and description for their website?
Been that way for a long time, you can if you want use a no odp tag and have your results show your own title.
There in bed with each other. Crawling is an understatement! They even use the odp in their site! http://directory.google.com/ I always new dmoz played a big role in googles rankings/indexing etc but to get this happening, lol....woah! Just making sure, the odp description...thats not in your meta tags but is the descprition or phrase anywhere else within your site?
