I was thinking last night about this.

I think we should all vote for the president of the United States because is the only president whose decisions affect us worldwide.

    What do you think?

If by all you mean all people in the world then no way. People could sabotage the elections to purposely make America weak.

The US is the only country in the world whose leaders affect the lives of people outside their country.

Or, that's a completely rediculous and false claim.

By that absurd logic, maybe Israel should start voting for the leaders of Islamic countries.

That's actually a question I have pondered for a long time. Considering the US president has stated on numerous occasions that America polices the world I would say yes. We all have a right to choose who polices us and if America by its own decision wants to take on that impossible task then they must take the responsibility that comes with it.

Fortunately its all political waffle. In reality most Americans know better (still there's many that don't) no country no matter how big can police the world and America isn't even the biggest. There seriously overstretched now thanks to Iraq and other "commitments". Sooner or later a country as stretched as America will fall. Its a constant of any wannabe empire through out history. They always bite of more than they can chew. Once ego sets in there doomed.

Now I have a few friends in America and maybe because I'm Irish I have allot of love for the Big O'L US of A but there responsibility must be met just like the rest of us. All I hope is that the good people in America (the ones that know there location on a map for starters) rise above there egotistical leaders and reset there country to the way they were always meant to be. The Central Government is way to big now and has pissed all over what the US originally stood for.

America had the greatest ideals of all nations when they started out. Its since gone the path of the beast. I hope they pull it back!

All these Bushes and Clinton's and Clinton's and Bushes and Bushes and Clinton's are not going to make the USA a better place any time soon mate.

It's far too late to bring America back to the great nation it was in the past because of the utter corruption that goes on at the highest levels of the American Administration. You only need to look at people like Cheney and Rumsfeld to see just how bad it has become.

This came up last election too. All the stupid from foreigners trying to tell people how to vote helped get Bush re-elected.

If you don't like how our country treats your country then you need to elect leaders that know how to work with foreign leaders better. If we had some rediculous president that allowed foreign countries to walk all over him/her, we'd fire them next election and vote for someone with a backbone.

A lot of people are upset with Mexico encouraging their poor and/or criminal citizens to illegally cross the border. It's not our job as American citizens to tell the Mexican people to vote for a president that will fix our illegal immigration issue. It's our job to elect leaders that will work to stop the flow of illegal immigrants.

Mexico's president can encourage all he wants but it's not going to do much good if there's a double barrier all along our border like there currently is in San Diego which is doing a bang up job of stemming the flow.

This is definitly a no go for me :) And I'm not even a US citizen, I believe in world partnerships, but sovereignty for nations is extremely important, especially regarding the social and economic differences between countries.

I'm not speaking between rich and poor countries, but also between the rich countries. Hell even Flanders and Wallonia are totally different in the small Belgium :)

Many years ago, the USA fought a war because of no representation by the controlling government.
