and if you claim it as income (as you should)
they bend you over and do things to you that cant be talked about
    :)
but yes i think it is always nice to do work for people in the US and get a cheque that turns out to be more than the amount u worked for :)

There are a lot of companies hiring based on performance more then certs. If you have lots of good examples of your scripting then you might be fine. You should test the waters by sending your resume out in an area you are thinking of moving too.

I am from Ottawa and I couldn't imagine not living somewhere in Canada.

I live in Vancouver. Comparing to the other cities I've visited around the globe, it's safe to say that we have the greatest concentration of hot girls. :)

Rent is pretty high in Toronto. It depends where you want to live, what type of residence/accomodations, etc, to then determine the cost.

Yeah Toronto can be pretty high depending on what you want, take a look at craigslist to get an idea of rental costs. http://toronto.craigslist.org/

T.O., Vancouver, Montreal - all pricey. And beware, if it's cheap then it's crap. Honestly there are no good deals any more. You'll get bugs, bikers next door, leaky roof or broken elevator that never gets fixed... you're looking around the $1000/mos mark for a decent place. If you can stay on the subway line but get away from downtown you're laughing too. Hope that helps connectmobiles :)

What exactly is a "decent place"? What could you get for that in Vancouver?

Yup, Canada is pretty cool. I've lived from coast to coast. Halifax and Sydney Nova Scotia, St. John's NFLD, Moncton and Fredericton New Brunswick, a summer in the Tdot, now in BC. Kelowna and Kamloops, and a year in a small town of 4000 peeps in Northern BC.

My plan is to buy property in Hawaii. Hopefully in a few years.

I was there for the first time back in May. I fell fully in love with the place and felt so depressed when I had to leave.

Oahu, North Shore. The place to be.

It's still expensive, even for a single person, a bachelor apartment. You'll have to look into it. I don't think there's a ton available.

connectmobiles If your going to move to Canada, and want to be in a big city, you should consider Montreal. A kick ass cool city and rent is CHEAP. Montreal is a renters market so finding one bedroom apartments, or bachelor pads won't be a problem.

For the prices you would pay in Toronto you can get something twice as nice and in a better part of town in Montreal.

Don't worry if you don't speak french. Pretty well every one also speaks english, and you will pick up enough french to get by after a while.

I would imagine that any internet marketing/computer tech/programmer job you find there will require you to speak english. lots of big internet marketing companies there, and if you don't mind the internet porn biz there will be a job for you there for sure.
