Don't want to spend money to promote business, GOOD or BAD ?

I do understand that every business needs budget, no business can become big without investment. But I don't want to spend money for promotion, build links, programming, maintaining host, shipping, customers service, do them all by myself. The cost of my business has been CUT CUT CUT again and again, sharing hosts with my close friends for free, never buy ads space, never adword.

I got 5000$ from online business this month, and didn't spend 1 dollars for promotion. Am I a miser? Is it GOOD or BAD? What's your percentage of investment/incoming ? How do you decide the budget?

Sounds very good to me . If you make 5000 a month with investing anything , maybe you should try to double it with some budget.

Yes this is also a way to do biz.
Is this your full time biz?
Coz i will not spent more than 1 hour/day for managing my online biz so i hire a worker to handle all those thing on my behalf.
Normally i will do the profit sharing with my worker such as 90%:10%.This can motivate them to sell more so that they can earn more.

Actually it's my part-time job. Sharing profit with parnters is a good idea. I kept finding such a person who can help me but with no luck.

I think the only problem would be if you're making less money doing things the free way than you would be if you invested money. Also, you have to consider your time. Is it costing you more TIME to do things for free than it would if you invested money? If so, how much is your time worth to you?

I cannot see that you have made $5000, or your mates are very silly for letting you take advantage of them...

A good website needs investment in the end, otherwise it shall DIE!...

It is incredible you can make it without investment .
In certain degree, your ad investment is rational to your income .

It's easier to say, but really difficult to do. Some work needs creativity.

Its all about the return on investment - during the time frame in which you intend to run the business.

In general, most businesses do eventually die if you don't put in some sort of investment back in to keep it moving along.

That being said, its not necessarily bad to skip for brief periods if you need the money for other things. :)

If you're making 5000$, unless you totally need it, you should spend a couple bucks on advertising.
