I wouldn't give up on Hubpages all together. One of my affiliates is making at least $100 a day off of one keyword. And has been doing so for almost 6 months. He hasn't been banned yet. And I know that the same hubpage for the keyword ipod movies has been at the top of Google for about a year and he's promoting a clickbank site. He must be making some serious bank with that one.
I've got about 40 hubs and i've had none banned yet. It's blatant affiliate marketing they are banning you just need to make sure that your hub is unique and that you don't link directly to clickbank . I link my hubs to domains I create.
It seems the first one has been amended... * You must have no more than 1-2 links to any one domain on a page of original content (tinyurl and other cloakers are considered wildcards)
I am going to start taking my pie from hub and squido shortly. I also know that "ipod movies" hub being at the top for a long time.
