Don't Use ArticlesBase.com Anymore - NoFollow Now

I just received an e-mail from the support group at ArticlesBase.com telling me that the links in your articles are nofollow. It said this is across the board.

This used to be one of the better article directories, but now that they nofollow everything, it's a waste (unless you just want the exposure).

I think that's disappointing when article directories do that. They basically let their authors write free content for them and then don't give them back any ad revenue or link juice. Stay away from Searchwarp.com also, they do the same thing.

I recommend not getting too worked up about this. I don't submit to ArticleBase.com directly but I do through ISnare and I've found that articles there can rank in the search engines. That can mean direct traffic which can mean sales. Plus I don't believe that nofollow links are entirely discounted. It also probably looks more "natural" to have some nofollow links among the links that your pages have pointing to them.

Hey I did not know about it. This makes no sense submitting articles to these sites now. I can get nofollow links easily by commenting on high quality forums. why submit long articles...

    Thanks for the information.

It is not only the links that are of value though. Article publishers will bring you targeted traffic too and other webmasters may visit your site and if it is any googd may decide to link to it as well.

It surely is disappointing to know this. I loved articlebase site. However I am not too worried. My strategy is usually not to rely on submitting articles to just a couple of directories. I would rather submit my articles to tons of directories (mix of high and low pagerank) to get most leverage out of them. I use tools which make it easy and less time consuming for me.

By the way, articlebase articles can get good rankings in Google. Just build a few links to the article at articlebase and you can see good rankings in Google. This can mean traffic to the article and then to our site. Even if the link to our site is nofollow, we can atleast get a lot of traffic by getting our article ranked highly.

I just checked articlesbase and the links are dofollow. Perhaps you'r talking about the links inside the article's content.
