Thats some sort of poor advice from Amateur people Article marketing experts suggest that the ideal length of articles is 475-625 words.
In my opinion 350-500 words article is better for submission to many sites and to get backlink also. Then also, some sites require more than 500 words article, so that decision depends on webmaster.
Hi SEOwm, Interesting to see what others are saying. But focusing just on getting backlinks with your articles is a pretty limited strategy. When you include providing interesting and valuable content for the reader with a great headline and resource box you get a lot more than just backlinks. More visitors, more effective pre-selling and when combined with an irresistible offer - more cash! Cheers
Have any of you ever submitted a 1000+ word article, i believe there is much more authority to be generated with a larger article
I also agree that 300-500 words is plentyful. Remember quality doesn't equal quality and you are much better off writing more texts that are simple and have less backlinks per text though more overall than cramming loads of backlinks in a few long texts that are overly heavy and somewhat repetitive. You do have to be very careful of backlinks too because of the company and google policies. Basically a happy medium is best
I did not say anything about having a crappy repetitive article or anything about cramming loads of backlinks in. Also, if the goal is quality not quantity, shouldn't you be creating less articles and focusing on perfecting larger articles?
@SEOwn - I also didn't say anything about YOU saying having "crappy" repetitive articles or otherwise. This is purely my opinion and not aimed at anyone specific. In my experience it is easier to have shorter articles when it comes to quality. Not everyone will have the same experience or opinion but that's what these discussions are for aren't they? To give a range of opinions so that people can take or leave advice as they please? On a further note - not everyone has had the practice to write such long texts that are 1000+ words that aren't repetitive or in your own words "crappy". So isn't it better to write a shorter text that is coherent with backlinks than otherwise?
No, I don't see how 500 words is enough to cover a subject in better detail than the other 2000 related articles on the same site with the same level of content, and I believe googles algorithm will take that into effect when deciding which of the articles about "keyword" is the most informative.
Unless it looks like spam which many long articles can look... But you're obviously very certain about your view so maybe you should consider writing 1000+ word article on why 1000+ word texts are better than shorter ones to show the quality of your argument, which will be much more beneficial than responding in short forum comments... Just a friendly suggestion!
Sounds like a good idea Sorry I am annoyed because its page 3 of this post and no one really ever tries for large articles but wants to point out that 400 words is best...
No worries I think definitely writing some helpful tips on how to write long worded articles for backlinks successfully would be a great. I certainly could do with a few pointers as mine only usually end up max. 600 words.
Page 4 now. =) Maybe it's because the vast majority in this thread has been there, done that with the large articles, only to realize that it's a waste of time for us (read: not needed), in order to get what we want out of the deal. ;]
