dont understand on site google search

    Hey I am confused. I put the google search on my site, but it doesn't receive any results when I search for something that is on my site... even if I type in the exact title or a longer segment of text. The odd thing is when I search on the google tab for the same thing I am first on the rank. Can anybody clear up why this mught be happening?
