Don't understand my PR

    Can someone take a look at my website - I don't understand why the homepage is PR3, but all the links (forums/directory/articles) are PR4...I figure it would be reversed.

    Heh, it was the same way on my site for a while, I still haven't figured it out..

    I am assuming it has something to do with the outgoing links, maybe there are less outside links on the forums that would take away the PR.

    Yeah its weird - the only links going out from the homepage are google ads. Everything else points to stuff in the domain.

    hmm... my first thought was that maybe you got more backlinks to forum than to main page but after checking on beta.search.msn.com i see that's not true. 6 links to /forum/ 3941 backlinks to main page.

    My another idea is that maybe you have links from so called 'bad neighbourhood' like link farms for example.

    Same situation with my sites. Homepage is pr 4 but many of the sub-pages are pr 5.

    Another weird thing is that, one of the page on the main menu (linked from all internal pages) has pr 2 but another page on the same menu has pr5. In the first case there are lots on internal links and in the second hardly any. I guess google actually subtracts some pr from the originating page before it passes on some to the linked page.
