Even if the home page of a blog has a good PR, all the other pages seem to have 0 or very low PR. So, I can't really see the point of paying to have an article on someone's blog which includes text links to my site. It may start off being on a page with, say, PR5 rating. But, once a certain number of other articles have been added to the blog, my article and links will then be relegated forever to a 0PR page. Is this correct? Or have I completely missed the point of buying text links on blogs? Any comments much appreciated ... thanks!
I think thats one area you are right about but also it has to do with how much traffic the blog in general gets. If you have a link in an artilce on a site that gets 1000 uniques a day then you will get some nice traffic from people clicking on your link. So it all depends on what you are trying to get out of the link I guess
Im also biased about buying post on blogs. If your wish is to get PR juice out of it, it is probably not a good idea. But if you want traffic, then you will probably get some. But again, If a network of blogs is selling articles, and he is posting 5 to xx post per day, do you really think someone is reading that blog ? They are bassically flooding the blog with content, and your post will go down on an unknown page soon. However, a link is a link , and bad link dont exist. The link you are getting are also to some extent contextual becaus ethey are wrap in a post with keywords to your site. S I guess not all is lost.
I beg to differ about noone reading the blogs.. I have a 600 blog network and my blogs get at least 200 uniques each per day- So someone is reading it and someone is clicking on the adsense.. The traffic is from google.. There are billions of websites- Do you believe my little 600 is anything.. No.. It treats it like any other website and they rank high for some keywords.. It's like updating a regular site with content a few times a day, google sends you traffic...I've also been told by buyers that they got a huge amount of traffic after a posting and blog posts stay on the side for 200+ posts which is a month.. So it's hard to just generalize when it comes to blogs.. Forgot to answer the question- How did John Chow.com rank number 1 for make money online- He got tons of bloggers to link back to him with the keywords MAKE MONEY ONLINE.. So a blog network helps you to get tons of links for those keywords for a small price which helps you in serps and helps you in PR..
Just having your link surrounded by all the relevant content in blogs is useful, as long as that blog has a decent page rank on its own. The fact that people could actually click on it is just a bonus.
in my opinion, backlink is backlink. backlinks will help you get traffic from the web sites which your link stays
