If the Google advertising network is really that fragile and vulnerable then I might consider switching to a more reliable advertising network, preferably one that has the algorithm to handle a few simple click frauds... (wait..there arent any??).

Being vulnerable to hackers is already bad enough, now we're even vulnerable to random non-techie vandals with only the technical skills to wield a mouse and click stuff on screen?

Adsense publishers run an extremely fragile business here, and living in secrecy doesn't really help much (and why should we? We run an honest business!) because literally ANYBODY can vandalize your ads and ruin your business just for the heck of it, not just your "jealous" friends, unaware family or malicious competitors.

makes me feel like switching profession everytime i think about it.. >:-(

Yeah.. never share your URL to Each and everyone you know and meet and to your friends too, you can say that you own a website and dont tell them that you are getting money for each and every clicks there..!

They may get jealous or will try to help you by being a click bomb themselves :)

You can use PHP to block certain IPs from seeing the ads.

I think adsense publishers should sign a petition to get Google to handle malicious clicks for us.... I mean how hard could it be? Many clicks from same guy = invalid click, ignore all previous and future clicks from this person. I'm sure with a few millions dollars and the minds of some of the best software engineers in the world Google can get it done quite easily, they just need a motive...

    LOL :D

Seriously, as said above the best practice in my opinion is not to share your URLs. Not that any of my friends will click my ads, even if they knew my URLs the last won't be of any interest to them, very few are familiar with adsense and exactly those are smart enough not to click, though it still wont be a problem in a city of 2+ millions. After all I have 1 site about my country so that would be quite normal.
My parents and relatives also do not know my URLs although they have seen the sites, mainly in DreamWeaver.

My advice do not spread out your site/s anymore and do not worry so much about it - it will be ok :)

    WOW, really?
Just have a look around the forum for adsense-ban stories....

However, nowadays that is not so usual as before, guess they did somehow improved adsense algo. I even gave them some (guess already known) suggestions about that in adsense surveys that have appeared in my account...

Maybe they already did it? I haven't seen any new threads about banned accounts recently...

if you're concerned about your family clicking then use an ad blocker like McAfee or something & block google ads from being displayed on your computer...

Don't tell anyone your website URL. This way there is no possible way to get banned.
