Don't Tell Your Friends or Family

When I built my first few websites, I was very eager to tell my friends and family about what I was doing. It was fun to brag about my new enterprise. I wanted them to visit my sites. And while I NEVER directly asked them to click on my adsense ads, I hoped they would.

What a mistake. Letting you friends and family know about your sites is a good way to get banned. The people closest to you will want to help you (even if you don't ask them to help) and may click on adsense ads over and over again. They think that they are making you money, but all they are actually doing is getting your adsense account closed by Google.

It is ironic, BUT if you are using Adsense, they one thing you SHOULD NOT DO is tell your friends and family about your websites.

Even if your friends and family click your ads that has nothing to do with you. Anyone can come and click your ads or click bomb you. Unless your friends and family all use the same computer you do which I doubt is the case then you have nothing to worry about. I always tell friends and family and everyone else I can when I start a new online venture because word of mouth is great.
