Rarely. I once was dating a woman and she would stay up late playing on it. i woke up and surprised her and she shut windows down quickly....hmmmm. Next day I installed a hidden keylogger and made sure she could use it as she wanted. She was chatting about some wierd stuff and making up stories about me and chatting about some weird sexual stuff. I canned her quickly. Weird thing was that everything she made up about me really described her! Poor girl was off her rocker. So yes I do let someone use my computer it can be very helpful!
Not only do I hate other people using my computer, it also drives me nuts when people stand and look over my shoulder when I am doing stuff on my computer!
I don't let kids touch my comp because you never know what they might do. Apart from that anyone i trust is more than welcome to. My parents and friends use it all the time. Besides, when i went on a holiday i asked my friend to check on my comp to make sure it does not overheat or anything. I wanted to keep it on for remote desktop.
I have a feeling that is the case for many a DP'er but for an altogether different reason....BOOBIES!!
My sister LOVES to use my computer, and I LOVE to make up excuses so you can't use it. One of my favorites; I am running a virus scanner and it will just be so slow to do anything on the PC because I have the priority for the scanner up to 100%. I just don't want her talking to people on my lists or seeing what sites I browse, she always does that! First she says "I need to check my e-mail", she checks it then talks to people on my lists and looks at sites! I tell her to use another computer in the house, but she says "yours is easier to use"...How can it be easier to use?!
you need to find a program or something that looks like the computer gets shredded when she is using it...make it look like a total meltdown and then be all like : WHAT'D YOU DO???? that'll keep her off it for a few weeks right
Hahaha, timsdd, That is a great idea! I would totally do that, but I am afraid she may know of tricks like that because she is into tons of pranks and all that good stuff. And, I would probably start laughing, so maybe if I go into the living room or something while she uses it? But I don't want her doing something on my PC when I leave...
Everybody looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell them that no, they cannot check facebook on my laptop. My logic is this 1)My laptop is a doddery piece of crap already, and also happens to be my money maker. I'm not risking my income so you can figure out if that drunk frat boy added you or not. 2)A man's porn is his private business, and I don't want you seeing my history. It's nothing weird or whatever, but still private. You want facebook? I don't know what sites I went to that start with "f". Youtube? heh maybe when "YouPorn" sticks a new letter at the beginning so it doesn't pop up. (for those of you who are thick, this part was a joke) Typically, what ends up happening, is I remote control my fake TiVo box(mythTV/Windows Media Center Edition, yes, it runs both), and allow them to check it on there. They can't mess with my important files that are local to the laptop, and if they do mess something up, missing an episode of Scrubs won't kill me.
I dont like when someone touch my computer, But...I don't want to look materialistic - So I always let anyone touch it LoL... Generally, I dont really care...
