This is why most people who start a blog and don't get immediate success decide to quit. I got this from Setema Gali. It has really helped me with the success of my blog! Enjoy: "There are these things called Disappointment and Discouragement that lead to becoming devastated which ultimately lead us to depression. I am not referring to people who have real mental illness and challenges. I am referring to people who let the 4 D’s kill them. When YOU FEEL down, depressed, discouraged, disappointed…what type of action do you take? Do you get up early and exercise? Do you tackle the day head on with a positive attitude? Do you look at challenges as opportunities? The obvious answer is NO! Well…if you DON’T take action… If you don’t get to the gym (because you are disappointed, or depressed, or discouraged or devastated) or if you don’t build your business… If you don’t set the goal…if you don’t eat more healthy…if you don’t finish the task…if you don’t call your leads…if you don’t ASK for help…because of the D’s…then what will the RESULTS of your life be? Your results will be CRAP!!!! Then you will feel more discouraged, more depressed, more disappointed and more devastated. Then you’ll add more D’s to it like DESPAIR (giving up hope and giving up faith and giving up on the dream). Then all those D’s (feeling down, disappointed, discouraged, devastated, depressed, and despair) lead to another huge D… DOUBT. The worst thing you can do when facing the D's is to do nothing and just sit there. The best thing you can do is to get moving again. Get working, working out, serving, out with people and focusing on other people. Faith and Doubt CANNOT exist in the same mind at the same time. If you have DOUBT and are giving DOUBT attention then you are simply not walking by faith. Likewise…if you give FAITH and Belief a chance…you are turning away from doubt. When doubt rules your world it sends you right back into the vicious Destructive cycle of all the Ds. You MUST learn how to manage these D’s. In fact I call it DEALING with the D’s. Isn’t this a cool blog…all about the letter D. I feel like I should be on Sesame Street or Blues Clues…talking about all these D words. Learning how to DEAL with the Destructive D’s is NO EASY TASK. We have years of programming in us that is negative, limiting and destructive. Think of the last time you FELT disappointed. If you stayed focused on it that disappointment turned into discouragement. The rest is history. Disappointment turns into Discouragement turns into Devastation turns into Depression. The D’s turn into a NEGATIVE ATTITUDE. And here’s why it is so crucial that you learn how to DEAL with the Ds. A negative attitude will wipe out discipline.†Tony Robbins. Without Discipline in our lives we become mediocre, sloppy and unwise stewards. I have been guilty of this in my life too. Do not let ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING get you down, disappointed, discouraged, devastated and depressed. How do I DEAL with the Destructive D’s? Put your mind on what you want. Believe again…dream again… Pray. Talk with friends and family. Serve someone else. Sing a great song. I recommend this movie. If you can get past the low budget acting...and see the message...WOW! I even shed tears in this movie (but don't tell anyone please) Watch an inspiring movie (Forrest Gump, Facing the Giants, Faith Like Potatoes, Rudy, Rocky, Iron Man Express gratitude in a journal and to other people (I love this one. Gratitude can change your instantly because you take your focus off of what’s wrong in your life and you put it on what’s right in your life) Exercise (Endorphins…wow…what a difference) TAKE ACTION. One way out of the D’s is moving…changing your body and your voice and your facial expressions. Right now I want you to change your body into a state of happiness, excited and enthused? Change your facial expression as if you were happy, excited and enthused? Now make a noise with your mouth as if you were happy, excited and enthused? Can you see how fast you can change that? TAKING ACTION is a much faster way to get out of the 5 D’s. Why? Because the D’s seriously increase inaction. The D’s destroy our desire to work. Think about this…if you FAIL TO take action…you’ll look at your situation and it will get bigger and bigger and bigger when in reality it’s just “stuff†happening. You are the person who attaches the good or the bad to the experience. The mind can be as disempowering as it can be empowering. When going through hell…don’t stop for too long. Keep going. The only time to be still when facing the D’s is when you are “perfectly still†as in, worshipful, reverent and humble. “Be still and know that I am God.†This is referencing our attitude and mindset…our heart more than it is our physical attributes. TAKE ACTION. Go and do something kind for someone else. Forget about yourself and focus on others. Make breakfast for your loved ones. Take a jog."
