This isn't a sucess story or me saying I make $10000 a day.. (well it's like that)

Just to show you the guys and to motivate you that you should not give up on your blog. Writing unique content atleast 7 times a week will get you visitors from google. I started my blog on the 8th January 2011 and it has 200+ short articles (70-150 words), it's like a how-to blog but technolody based.

I optimized by blog with white hat methods and I chose a good template. I'm using blogspot so I don't need to worry about the speed of the hosting.

I began writing 1 short article a day around 100 words for a month (this isn't hard work). I made nothing on the first month but that didn't stop me writing more. The visitors made me write more. I added the Google Analytics code on the 31st Of January. It got from 4 unqiue visitors to 15. Here are the stats:

    1st Feb - 28th Feb
    -----------------------------------------------------
This got me motivated, so i began to write 2 short articles every day. I did some basic off page SEO because the site was still new, I didn't want to push the site further anymore. March was a good month, it got me 13 unique visitors to 41.

    1st March - 31st March
    -----------------------------------------------------
I had around 90 short articles and I was thinking I'm not earning nothing.. I'm just getting visitors. I was wrong, I was only getting a small amount of visitors in the months of Febuary and March.

I was lazy writing 2 short articles, now I'm writing 3-5 every day. April isn't even finished yet and I'm making around £1.00 everyday because of my unqiue articles that I submit. I have over 200 short articles now and look at these stats. Traffic increased, panda update great for me washed up all the duplicate content and downgraded the crappy blogs.

    1st April - 17th April

I'm now getting 200+ unique visitors from Google. Don't give up new bloggers! This topic is useful to beginners that have just created blogs and to those who used to be lazy like me lool. My goals for May is to write 50 short unique articles every week.

Great post, very motivational! This is definitely the problem when just starting out as a blogger. It takes time before you will get results. May I ask how much keyword research you did on your posts?
Also how much off site SEO?

Thanks. Yeah, I think my blog developed traffic from Google fast, it normally takes 6months. (This is why, I love blogger.)

My keyword research isn't a big issue because my posts are titled as e.g " decrease mozilla speed " and people search " how to decrease mozilla speed, "mozilla speed decrease", "decrease the speed of mozilla". My keywords are long tail, they break up in to longer keywords or shorter. I usually bold the keyword in my article, atleast three times. I'm based in the UK and I get a lot of traffic from the US and other countries around the world because my content is very helpful and useful for them.

Nice to know about your success. I had a somewhat similar experience with my own blog, and coincidentally, I too started with a blogspot blog :) I don't think that it is the best idea though.

Did you even read the topic? I'm trying to motivate bloggers who just started not to moan I'm earning £30 every month. Success = content = traffic.
It's funny that your the one who complains even though you create topics asking questions, sad really.

It's really short articles between 70-150 words. When you look at the words, it's like 600 word article everday. The little money will turn to £5 ($8) daily if I carry on updating the blog with unique and helpful content.

OR you could do as I did on one of my websites.
Write 10 articles over 1500 words and make $10 daily from them. =)
I'd rather write one long article on one subject than 15 short ones.

But I totally agree with you. People give up too soon and they really need to take some time
and actually work on your website. The more work and love you put in, the more visitors and money you will earn.

I don't like writing long articles, it gets me stressed and pissed lmao.
I always keep it short and simple, the more articles = the more visitors for me.

Yeah you're right. Bloggers get fed up when the hit 100 posts or the early 50. They become lazy and they don't even try. Adsense is for people who would like to earn more and bloggers that love to write lots and lots to express their views.

Hehe, well I guess that I write long articles because I can't stop once I have started writing. :p
If I write two 1500 words long articles on one day, then I have written the same amount as you write in about 10 days. =)
Also, longer articles usually ranks higher in the search engines.

Not big earnings, but it's already some motivation. Keep the work and try to multiply your earnings now.
