This is a fun little tool someone made... http://www.langreiter.com/exec/yahoo-vs-google.html?q=search+engine+position - Shawn
visually that is an awesome tool. I am not sure of the conclusions you can make from that tool, but bringing to life the visual aspects of ranking and comparing for the top 2 search engines is a great idea. I guess if your site is number one on both yahoo and google, for the keyword you are striving for, you win. for now. thanks for the heads up.
Agreed, it's not something I would use to check my rankings... Rather, it's just a fun toy... - Shawn
if in vertical letters the URLs couold be shown - then it would be even visual reference and more useful. the key problem with Yahoo data however is that they appear to have plenty of stoneage OLD pages in that do NOT exist and still are there (8 i have many of my own previous mirror sites ) hence all ranks are out dated at Y because mixed with inexiting ones. but to play or compare the tool is nice it may allow to play and fine-tune on pages SEO to adjust for both G and Y best possible results by adjusting singular / plural - strings vs words only, etc .. and other minor differences between the alghorytm of the 2 SE
http://www.langreiter.com/exec/yahoo-vs-google.html?q=search+engine+optimization Compare Google and Yahoo SERPs in an Unusual Manner!! Look at the Results for "search engine optmization"
Whatever else that tool may do, it 100% reliably crashes Mozilla 0.8 for OS/2, typically at about the point (I'd guess) when results would start to be displayed.
