Hello GUys, Just Cancelled my web hosting acccount on bluehost and all my 25 domain is down now :) Wow quiete nice traffic see 404 :) Whatever, l m not thinking to park them.

l want to warn my friends who care me, Dont listen web hosting firms who is offering veru high traffic limits and disk features. Unless you run a VPS they arrange you a very small cpu persantage and low features even whichever big host is it. Godaddy, Bluehost, All same.

l didnt use hostgator or 1&1 yet l dont think they are different, but l learnt bluehost is a waste of time.

Nevermind l look for advices. thanks.

I liked valueweb for US hosting, because I could get a dedicated server (on sale) for about $79 a month, with reasonable size and transfer, and a 10mbit link. With 25 domains, you can get a dedicated server for only a few dollars more than a VPS or reseller account and not have to worry about other people running procs or bandwidth intensive sites interfering with you, provided the host hasn't oversold their bandwidth. Leaseweb has some great sales for .eu hosting dedi servers if you check webhostingtalk for special deals.

i agree there, nothing is free or unlimited, sometime we get carried away by advertisements, but if we keep our heads on our shoulder we know , if its too good to be true probably it is.

Hmmm, I was considering signing up with BlueHost, as I will need mass amount of bandwidth for my project.

    Can anyone else confirm this?

I ran into this problem with one of my sites. I originally had servage wich promised you the moon and delivered considerably less. they are hands down the worst hosts i've ever encountered. We ended up getting a dedicated server which seems to be pretty good so far.

I use bluehost for my personal site and I love them. Their customer service is stellar and i've never had a problem with their package. I guess though if i ran a shopping cart i'd come to the same problems since it is a shared enviornment.

But it's true if you run scripts that require a lot of cpu you'd better ask any potential host of their allotment. Although 9 times out of 10 they are not going make any guarantees.

Some do have different policies though where if you exceed your cpu allotment they will give you time to sort it out as bluehost will do. We also tried Lunar Pages and they Just completely shut us off without a word of warning! You really want to make sure they aren't going to pull those types of tactics.

I don't think with bluehost you will have a problem with bandwidth. What he is referring to is CPU usage. I love Bluehost and will stay with them indefinately

What kind of sites might require hight CPU usage? Does it mean the loading speed?

I see no problem with unlimited Bandwidth, just space. I have servers with unlimited bandwidth and we use like a few Terrabytes a month.

It's not really the site per say but the type of scripts you may be using.
Certain scripts have high cpu usage like shopping carts, topsites some chat servers to name a few, a lot of those require you to be on dedicated

Yep, a shoutcast radio with 1,000 listeners at 128kbps will use 342TB of bandwidth a month :D

It's not ours, we host SHOUTcasts for clients.

It's an option in your profile options in userCP, you just need to put your RSS from the blog in there

Dreamhost is pretty good. I'm having no problems with it even if i'm hosting my php bot on it. No issues with bandwidth or cpu usage yet.

THese are all thiefs, Just check their TOS, l couldnt find any violation there abour cpu persantages and stopping broadcastwith suspending accounts, What l got with Bluehost is after l got the controle panel after payment, as l always do l installed my First Blog, Bigphp.net You can even test it. its a blog script every1 know. even after l make installations while l was tring to post a new article bluehost started suspending my account, and when l asked them why! They warned me that l was using more than %5 or per seconds should be use of CPU. THis was nonsense cos l used wordpress in many other web hosting companies and even with more qualifications, but l wasnt having any problem. But they kept suspending the site after the installation. l hate Bluehost after now cos You see What they did to my blog during this suspending terms. If you want my advice, never use an Overselling web hosting company if you are not running only html pages. But todays world, its impossible to run only html pages. its nonsense. l never advice bluehost anymore..

They are OVerSelling Like Cats & Dogs... Good Lukc Guys who have account with them.

Do Wordpress blogs (with MySQL databases) have high CPU usage? And also, if I host .zip files (no more than 500kb each) for download from my account?

l dont believe it, thats what they lie to me when l go live help. l talked with them many times and eerytime they said me l was using more % of what l am allowed with only my wordpress blog. Well l dont belive them, What l belive: they let peoples use resources too much less that it shoud be. l dont judge them to oversell, every1 do overselling , but l judge them to steal peoples money with selling 100 peoples resources to 1000 peoples. Thats really what they do.
