Hey Guys, I just been navigating to one of my websites and notice that in the bottom of internet explorer, there reads a message "done but with errors on page" The message is obviously very clear, but i have no idea how i go about finding what those errors are. is there any chance anybody could give me some advice on what could be causing the problem, or how i go about finding where the problem lies please? You have 70 errors and 36 warnings. Try to fix all errors : http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=h...(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0 I see you use wordpress..maybe the template is not W3C validated or you posted some bad code on your posts.
Try the HTML Validator addon for FF. You can go through each error line by line, fix it, and reload. http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/ Most of your validation errors are really really simple (and common). Nothing to worry about. Just hit Google, W3C, and work methodically through them.
Yeah simple errors but will be pretty hard to fix them if are template errors because is a wordpress website. But I think he used WYSIWYG wp editor and the errors are just extra tags added by it.
Hey Guys, Thanks a lot for the advice. That site doesnt use wordpress, its running on Joomla but im guessing the methods for fixing them would be the same as if i was using wordpress, ill use the tools you have mentioned and try my best work work though them. i appreciate you taking the time to give me advice. thank you! I decided to install the firefox extension you recommended here, and i cant beleive how easy that made the job. I am, to be honest, shit with coding, but the extension made the job so so easy, so thanks very much for your input. Same to everybody else who has posted too. thank you!!! Andrew
I have one more question guys, It now says there are no errors on my page, and it is xhtml valid, but there are errors with the google ads - is this normal, or something ive messed up? change the version of your explorer... your are using the past version of IE or if not try other browser....
That error is being displayed via HTML Tidy in the firefox add-on. And the IE version i use is the latest IE7
