Donations link in sig?

I was wondering if a mod or admin can tell me if it is ok to have a paypal donations link in my sig?

Begging/asking for money isn't allowed anymore here, simply because so many people were scammed before, I would guess it's a no as I can't say i've seen it in any sig. Just put it on your website and link to that website in your sig, but remember not to ask for donations. If people want to donate via your website they will.

 

I am not talking about begging I was talking more of "If you have found my advice helpful please consider donating" etc. I do SEO during the day an during the dead points of the day i help out in the server admin an security area to me more specific as that is where i am qualified / have most of my interest.

 

imo that's still asking for money in a sense, I know exactly what you mean m8 and i'm not trying to be rude or anything, just offering my opinion. Best thing to do is just see what the mods say, as i'm not a mod I don't know the answer for certain.

There is no such rule that putting up donation link in signature is not allowed, You may go ahead and do so

Asking people to donate money to you because they found your advice here helpful would be on par with rep abuse, when people ask others to leave rep for the same reason. So no, you may not do that.

If you're asking for donations based on the information on your own site, you're allowed to promote your own site in your sig (although since asking for money isn't directly allowed - make sure the anchor text for the link isn't something directly about getting donations) - also be sure that your links follow any other rules (such as not linking to inappropriate adult sites where you're asking for those donations).
