I really hate ask, but I am looking for some serious help: Last December, my parked Honda was hit by a drunk driver out in front of my apartments, it was somehow t-boned and I still to this day have no idea who hit me or how exactly they hit my car, but it was totaled. I sold the car for $800 to a friend and bought a crappy 95 grand am that ended up throwing a rod within 3 weeks of driving it. Luckily I found someone who was willing to trade, and I ended up with a running 1978 Chevy K10. The gas was expensive (10mpg) , but it was a reliable vehicle and all was fine until about a month ago, my girlfriend was hit by an uninsured driver, almost totaling her car now too. We are trying to sue the people in small claims court, but the process is taking forever and we are not expecting to even get ANYTHING from these people due to them being poor. Although our main souce of transportation was gone, we still had the truck luckily and we used that for the last month to get both of us to work and back, until this week when my radiator started leaking, and I devoloped a nasty set of eletrcial problems that has costed me over $400 in repairs so far, and the truck is still not running. When I bought the truck, the guy did not mention that there was a restitution lien on the truck, and he has still not payed it off so I cannot legally sell the vehicle, or even get it registered in my name, and the temporary registration expires on the 27th of this month. So basically I am screwed in every way possible, it's funny how things seem to all happen at once. I can't afford to fix the truck, and I cannot sell it because it's not even legally mine. My girlfriends car needs approx. $3000 in repairs from a body shop, but I am sure I could do most of it myself and cut down the cost it's jsut a matter of getting the people who hit her to fork up some cash or pull it out of my butt. Worst of all, I start college again on Monday and I don't even have a vehicle, which means I have to carry ALL my books and binders in a large back pack, walk 1 mile to the bus stop, and only be able to work 5 hours a day due to the bus schedules. At this point my best option is to either save up enough to buy a cheap runing car ($1000) or try to fix my truck. The truck needs a $200 radiator and an unknown amount of electrical repairs. Sorry for the long story, but I felt it was approiate to exaplain myslef before asking anyone for help. I am a proud man, so it took a lot for me to even make this post, and I am sure I am going to get flamed by some rich kids, but honestly at this point nothing feels worse than not having reliable transportation. I do work 40 hours a week. If you can help out, anything would be awesome, even 10 cents if that's all you have, anything will help honestly. not that i'm going to donate anything, but I don't believe you. Seems to me like your just trying to get money out of people for nothing, giving some sad story as an excuse, but then again, maybe i've seen too many scam emails/PM's/Forum posts/etc to judge.
HELP A SISTER OUT. I came home from work one day after being fired only to find someone had broken in and stolen my 100'' Plasma TV screen and Mac Airbook. I called the police but after a long investigation it was said that I could not claim anything due to not having any insurance. So basically I am screwed in every way possible, it's funny how things seem to all happen at once, first my job then my plasma TV and laptop. I can't afford to buy a new one. Worst of all, I start college again on Monday and I don't even have a Mac Airbook to do assignments on, which means I have to write everything BY HAND which is going to be hard because I got RSI from being on my Mac Airbook so much. At this point my best option is to either save up enough to buy a cheap Toshiba or beg, borrow and steal from anyone so here I am! Why would I make up some story? If I wanted to scam people out of money, Id move to nigeria, but I am not about that, I was just asking for some sincere help.
Thanks for making fun of me in such hard times. You cannot compare a vehicle to a tv, you need a car to work/school not a tv.
Incase you didn't pick up in my post I'm more concerned about my Mac Airbook than my TV. I'm sorry for making fun but begging online is seriously not cool, no matter how desperate you are. You are no better than any of those Nigerian Princes. Ask your mum/dad or people you can actually pay back OR even better do small jobs for people's websites (which I'm guessing you are capable of because you're on DP) in return for the donation. Don't be a freeloader.
My mom does not live in the country anymore, I support myself entierly. I said I was willing to trade some work for donations too.

And I'm really sorry, I don't earn $10/hour or even $5/hour I earn randomly $10-$25/day.. So you can understand bro..
