Hi guys and gals... My business partner and I have recently launched DomainScour.com in alpha. We're definately looking for feedback from you, the webmasters and domainers that are familiar with purchasing domains. The site offers a fast and easy search of 7 popular domain extensions. It's based on the concepts pioneered by similar sites, but we're improving on the formula. Site Features The site's primary function is searching for domains and providing options for each result regardless of whether or not it is register. Also, though it's still a little privative, the site offers users the option of registering multiple domains simultaneously. You can even save your results to your favorites and have them next time you visit. We have a lot planned for the upcoming beta release and even more in store for the full release, but in order to get there, we need feedback from qualified users like you. I welcome feature requests, general feedback, bug reports, and anything else you can think of. I really appreciate you taking the time to look into the site and say a few words. Thanks in advance
hey - nice looking site few points I got: *Domain Hacks - Nice Feature *Spaces don't act as I would expect. E.G. Put in "used Cars" and you get "used cars.com is available" but you cant actually buy a domain with a space in it!!!!! *perhaps should offer similar suggestions? E.G. Put in "used cars" and it checks "cars used" "used car" etc. Other than that nice name, nice design & Good work
Disallow nonalphanumeric characters, also be sure to put the correct character limit on each TLD. Other than that, good site. Colors may be a tad bright, but not bad at all. Good luck, Peter
Site Value Report The estimated value of DomainScour.com is: $60 This value is calculated based on several factors shown above, including: Links, Traffic (Alexa), age of the domain, site category, domain keyword popularity, and overall occurrences of the domain name on the web. lack of traffic buddy
Good call - I'll add that to the list. Hmm, that's a great question. I guess it took me about 8-12 hours to really tweak the design to where I wanted it. Then I started working with a developer to get the coding done. About a month into it, he completely disappeared and has never since logged into IM or responded to an email. This obviously meant that the project was stalled and I didn't have a coder. Once I found a new developer to work with, the site went from HTML/CSS to where it is now in a little less than 2 months. Yeah, I'm well aware of that, lol... The site has only been functional for a few weeks and is still in alpha. Feel free to start blogging about it Thanks! I appreciate the kind words
Hello Ninjamuk. I had a chance to look at your website today. My Thoughts Logo & Header Logo and header are sufficient for your site. The domain name pretty much shares what your site does. Good find! Domain Search Bar Excellent search bar. I found myself trying domain after domain. Favorites Your favorites function works. Does this store the info... as long as a person doesn't clear their computers cache? Domain Hacks I initially didn't understand the Domain Hacks... but after trying it out... I'm impressed! Bookmark It would be good if the bookmark opened the new window as a 1/2 page instead of a quarter page. Top Right Navigation Only the 'Find New Domain' button worked. The 'Find Host' and 'Learning Center' buttons didn't work. I'd suggest a contact button up here... and have it as a contact form rather open the persons email program. bottom navigation... same as top right navigation... Who Is Info I had a problem with the Who Is Info pop-up window. I couldn't scroll to the top to see all the information of the document. I also couldn't scroll to the bottom of the screen to click the 'Close Button'. Please see images below: Top Portion Bottom Portion Hosting Button The hosting button inside an available domain name window brings you to GoDaddy. I'm a little disappointed that it would go to a third party as such. It would be good if you ventured into such business or found someone you could refer to... who provides hosting... I know there are many people at DP that offer good hosting plans. Conclusion Very excellent site. I am going to use it for future domain name searches. This review was done with FireFox 2.0.0.7 on PClinuxOS 2007. I do hope this assists you. Respectfully. Lhlalyam
