Domains with hypens: Will it prevent high rankings on Google?

    This seems really, really irrelevant. What percentage of a site's traffic comes from actual type ins? Especially when you're talking about sites that need SEO, not sites like sony, microsoft, apple, etc that have enough brand recognition that someone WOULD type them in directly. The only other direct type in scenario would be someone typing a URL from traditional advertising, but that's not very cost effective.

    More importantly, like minstrel said, it's really not that hard to type in. I have had great luck with number 1 search results in google using dashes in domain names since the late 90s(never more than one or two though):
