Many good keyword domains had been registered. I am now thinking of Domains starting with "the" or "the_". eg. thedomains .com or .net or the-domains .com or .net etc... What do you think of such domains starting with "the" or "the-" ? Thanks for your discussion.
the_domain.com will not work (can't be registred). the-domain.com will. I like the domains and I have sold a few for nice money.
I think that domains starting with the are fine if they are part of a quality domain. Basically as long as it sounds good and flows well it's fine. Take John Chow's thetechzone.com for instance. Great success, great domain and easy marketability. The major point is here that the domain has to make sense. I don't think a domain with the- "with the hyphen" would be a good idea. It would be very difficult to market that IMO.
I visited "thetechzone.com". It is nice site. Yes. Domains with "the-" would be difficult for marketing purposes but it is still good for SEO.
I have three very nice domains that start with the: ThePlot dot net, The Bagel dot net and another one that I dont remember lol... I like this kind of domains.
thedomain sounds right- thedomains doesnt i think if it sounds good and makes sense they can do very well- like TheKids.com or TheComputer.com
if domain name doesnt have hyphens, dashes, then THE domain name will not be a problem if spells right, target the niche and not very long.
It can work, yes you have to be creative these days now the dot com's have all but gone... examples like TheBikeShop.com or TheMediaCenter.com are two that could work ( i have no idea if these are actual sites?)
If it makes sense & sounds right, then it is potentially worth the investment. If it doesn't sound right, then I wouldn't buy it
the- would be good as part of your SEO efforts but I wouldn't use them as the main domain. Hehe.. that would be a good one... maindomain.com I often open a browser any type "weathernetwork.com" when it should be "theweathernetwork.com" and I find it quite annoying that they don't own both. It's been mentioned and I agree... it has to pertain to the name. "thetechzone" is a perfect example. "thediscountshopping" would be an example of a bad choice IMHO.
yay, now im not so upset of the "the" investment. personally i think as a domain itself using the dash '-' is a bad choice. only way i could see value is if you created a site other then that it is a fail
I think the 'the' is really good with a .info thecardcollector.info thecityoflondon.info thegood.info somereallygood.info ... oops...not 'the'... theplasmatv.info Lotsof.info DoYouNeedMore.info ??
it doesn;'t matter if its info or .com,, only the thing that matters in my opinion is SEO,, the more backlinks you have with specific keywords, the higher your rank in google will be Regards Professional Dude
