    Hi
I am just curious, I see a bunch of domains listed on internet for example sedo and godaddy etc. Some of the names are stupid but have high bids. Those domains dont even have a website or traffic. On the other side, there are some similar good names but no bids...

Is domain selling / auctions a waste of money/investment. Any succesful domain seller can share some tips or throw some light?

Just go with the trends, here in germany for example carsharing has become very popular over the last months. I registered some good long tail keyword-domains and sold them via sedo for lots of money.

    its all about monitizing

It doesnt have anything to do with the name, it how you monitize the site

With a bad name and no web site traffic, I'd suspect shill bidding.
