I have a few domains I'm considering getting rid of. I just don't think I'll have time to develop all of them, and projects for one or two fell through. So I'd like some feedback. Of these domains, do you think any would be worth hanging onto until I find more time, or should I just sell each of them and be done with it? Here are the ones I'm not sure about: coccy.com - was planning an internet cartoon w/ a friend, but just couldn't find the time. AntiIndustry.com - this one was planned for another indie music site, but I have too many going or planned on that front right now. BizHow2.com - was planning do to business how-to articles, and if I keep any, this would probably be the most likely - also have .net and .org for this one e-trips.net - don't remember what I registered it for GlobePR.com - was going to use it for a press release distribution site, but I have a better domain for it iFreelancing.com - might launch a general freelancing forum, but just don't have the time right now WWEsucks.net - registered this one quite a while back for an ex that wanted to launch a wrestling site. It's just been sitting for quite a while, and I probably won't keep it. Any thoughts on any, and whether I should hold onto them or ditch them? Thanks. Jenn
well if any PR you can sell for a good price, you can go and try to get reg price back if you want, i love wwesucks.net lol haha. but i like wwe ifreelancing and globepr can sell probably high if you dont want them, you can always give them to me
I doubt I'd "give them away." I don't think any have PR, b/c they're either just sitting or parked somewhere. I suppose I could post small sites to get PR for a bit, and then try to sell them though. Might be a better idea, especially since I'm unsure. Thanks.
meh... i tried to make you give them away lol, but if you have time before they expire -- develop one domain at a time -- during your spare time and park the other ones somewhere. money comes in and you develop the domains in the meantime -- it will take time but eventually u can monetize them
I just really don't have the time to sink into them. I have more than a dozen live sites I struggle to make time for on top of running my firm, plus 30-40 on my "to develop" list. lol So I'm just figuring it might be better to unload a few before I yet again pay their renewals and such just to let them site another year.
oh wow busy person, auction them off them, you have ebay, DP forum domain sale here and more lol, but good luck
I would say unload them, and focus on creating a few good sites, I used to own hundreds of domains, now I own just a few and focus on those. Just my opinion....
I agree with you about working on limited sites. I may be crazy, but not enough to try to run hundreds of sites. lol I never register a domain unless I have a specific plan for it. Sometimes my mind is just too far ahead of what I can physically accomplish I guess. I'll go ahead and auction a few off I guess. Couldn't hurt. EDIT: OK. I started a thread at buy/sell/trade with these and a few others I had sitting around - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2680626#post2680626
i am like you, i dont register a domain unless i have a plan for it, people out there just keep on registering and hoping to sell for more than they paid for, doesnt work for me lol
Honestly, I wouldn't have the patience to do that all the time. It would drive me nuts just keeping track of them... heck, I barely remember them all at this point, and that's only with about 50 or maybe 60... hell, I barely remember just my live sites some days! So yeah... trying to sell domains constantly... not my thing. I think that's partly why I've been hesitant to let them go until now. I'm just sort of in "spring cleaning" mood with my files, clients, sites, etc., so I'm trying to "remove some clutter."
i know what you mean, and i have only like 15 sites, most have pr2+ but i dont pay attention to some, like a few days ago i found out my old directory is a PR3 lol, last time i logged on was december, had to check and approve like 1000 links
lol I have a directory like that - small niche one. I'm shocked every time I see it show up in my adsense records... it's like "Oh yeah... I own that, don't I? Maybe I'll login this year." lol
I was visiting your other forum, allfreelancing.com, powered By MyBB If you are familiar with this software you can keep iFreelancing.com and create a few basic categories, then assign to each of them a thread started by MyBB automatic RSS feeds addon. Your forum will be updated on a regular basis by the bot, being crawdable and, over time, already indexed when you have time to develop it into a live forum project
