Hey, have any of you had experiences from regestering domains from movies or tv series where the producers or company behind the movie forgot to register the domain for themselfs? Example: europeangoldfinch.net from prison break and dont-be-a-hero.com from family guy.
It depends why would you want those names in the 1st place.I think all the tv shows and movies are trademarked so if you ever develop them they could fila a DCMA dispute and take it away from you for free.
I don't think you got the point... I meant Domains you see on computer screens in movies and tv shows. Not the actual movie name itself.
If you were to create a blog, forum or authority site about that particular movie/tv show I could see it being cool. However I can't imagine huge advantages of getting those names. People may rarely stumble upon the site after seeing it in the movie.. And would very rarely google search it. If you want to create an authority on that topic though - its a great name to go with
Oh...i get it now.Well as you pointed out "the producers or the company behind the movies" well if its a company you deffently can't register it and expect to sell it to them. They would fill out a DCMA dispute and take it from you verry easy. Then try to avoid domain names with "-" .If that person/company really wannit that domain name they would pursue the one without dashes , cause they have money to spend.Hope that helps!
