DomainMonster privacy

Does anyone knows how DomainMonster privacy works in terms of hiding email address on whois? The way it shows at http://www.domainmonster.com/domain-name-privacy/whois/ is
"noreply@privatemonster.com". Will all privately registered domains will receive the same email on whois? But then how the relevant emails will be forwarded to the registrant's real email address (including for example transfer approvals)?

To clarify, our privacy service does not forward on emails.

If you need to transfer the domain you will need to deactivate privacy temporarily while you raise the transfer.

If you have any other questions just ask away.

so if some interested party want to contact me about the domain can or cannot they do it and how in the following cases:
    a) trademark attorney
    b) potential buyer
Does it mean my whois info is going to be captured, stored and displayed by those numerous whois history sites? (unless I am going to fake it I guess)

Usually if there is a trademark issue we will be contacted and inform you as soon as we receive any kind of complaint.

Potential buyers can also contact us directly and we can submit offers to you.

You can also list your domains for sale using our "Sell your Domain" service. It will be listed with Sedo and Afternic, plus a huge amount of their partners. As far as the WHOIS history sites go, I'm not sure if they would be captured there or not. I believe you could deactivate privacy, raise the transfer, then activate privacy again so it is only off for a short period of time.

Some people create a new mailbox specifically for the purpose of transferring domains so that may be something to think about. Unless the history site searched your WHOIS in the brief period it has been changed then I don't think it would appear. But there are no guarantees and I can't comment on the policies of other sites.

    Hope that answers your question!

Sam (or other domainmonster rep), if you're still reading this thread, would appreciate a reply to these two things that seem VERY outside the industry norm re: WHOIS privacy offerings:

    1) When you register a new DN or transfer one from a different registrar, you CANNOT auto-enable Whois privacy...you have to turn it on manually only after the transaction is processed. Every other registrar I use has a simple setting that says "enable WHOIS Privacy by default", meaning it's enabled from the moment I buy/transfer a DN. What this means is that the WHOIS database is populated with your real info (even if only briefly...but that's still a concern since bots are continuously crawling/indexing the DB).

    2) Please re-think your refusal to offer a forwarding service. Yours is the ONLY company I've encountered that does not. The WHOIS database currently shows my email as: mywebsite.com@privatemonster.com -- but there's no option in the dashboard to have email sent to that address forwarded anywhere, which -- as you've confirmed -- is your company's policy. That extremely disadvantageous: there are plenty of reasons I may want to be contacted, even while keeping my WHOIS data hidden.

As I said: the above two things are very atypical as far as registrars go and, speaking for myself, would ensure that I don't transfer any more domains to you...are they on the docket for discussion at all?
