Hi Shawn, I just tried verifying a domain which I am selling here - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1811607 As written in verification process, I added TXT in my DNS, here is the screen shot of it: But, still when I click on verify link it shows that "We were unable to verify the ownership of this site. Please try again." Can you please help me out? Thank You.
Only works for valid domains that are actually registered. http://tools.digitalpoint.com/whois.php?query=hostingreviewsonline.com
Oh wait, just noticed there is a dash in there... but either way there are no TXT records in your DNS for that domain. Either it didn't get saved or your provider has some sort of delay for propogating to the live DNS servers. Checking manually with the DIG command... http://tools.digitalpoint.com/dns.php?host=hostingreviews-online.com&type=ALL If there are any TXT records at all on your name servers for your domain, you will see them like so: http://tools.digitalpoint.com/dns.php?host=digitalpoint.com&type=ALL
Might try again in an hour or so... might just be lag in the way your hosting provider has DNS setup where maybe all changes are pushed out to live servers hourly or something with them not really being realtime changes.
I was taking a look at his thread and I noticed it says the registration date is May 31st 2010 even though its currently May 23rd 2010 whats up with that?
The registration date seems to be wrong most of the time, majority of my sales which ive made which included a domain (domain/site sales) have been wrong, I think it's just a registrar issue.
I get the same issue as in the first post with one of my domains, the txt entry is there exactly as this user has screenshotted?
streamsportslive.com Can you check these records externally from your whm/cpanels? Don't have much knowledge about the server settings side of things.
That domain has no TXT associated with it. http://tools.digitalpoint.com/dns.php?host=streamsportslive.com&type=ANY As far as *why*... I dunno... you will have to ask your DNS provider why the changes you made did not propagate out. If you have TXT records setup in your DNS, it will look something more like this: http://tools.digitalpoint.com/dns.php?host=digitalpoint.com&type=ANY
