There are some free domain appraisal tools where you can evaluate your domain name or at least get an idea
    Estibot.com and Dnscoop.com

In my opinion it is overpriced, domain is not even keyword rich, if you try a bit you can possibly find a similar sounding domain still not registered and it will cost you $5. SEOme SEOhouse SEOdoor SEOetc

It's too expensive,I think. There are several factors affecting a domain's value. The length, the years for being registered, the popularity of its corresponding website, domain extension and whether it's cathy.

Don't buy that domain, definitely not worth it. You should probably just register a new domain.

The real price for the any domain name is how much the potential buyer is ready to pay for that

That's ridiculous. $5 is not worth the time it takes to transfer the domain.
Exactly. You want it, you pay what the owner wants, or you find another option. There is no rule to what people can sell their property for. They are in control...you want what they have.
    I wouldn't sell it for $10. It's a brandable name.
It depends on what plans you have for it, if you can recoup your investment and how bad you want it. There are no rules when you want something that someone else has.

Not sure I would pay $1k for it, but it's not like there are any good SEO domains available anyone, unless you use your own name.

Technically, the domain holds no SEO, or type in value at all....All it is brandable, and that is only if you know how to brand it.

I would give a counter offer and see what he is willing to sell for.
Offer 50% of what you are willing to spend ( but don't be insulting like an offer of $40) , and see what he comes back with. If he counters then you can probably meet somewhere close to your budget...if not, then move on and find something else.

The question you have to ask yourself is, Do you like that name that much?

Magnate??? Is that a keyword?? I thought MAGNETS are the things that attract iron filings.

People search for Magnet not Magnets, and I do not understand who will search for 'magnate'.

Offer $10 or close the deal and search for some thing else

That domain is garbage. I wouldn't recommend using it even if it were available for reg fee.
