Domain updated over a week ago, only works with some

    Try going here: http://metrics.cc

Half of you will get to the site, the other half will not. I updated the DNS servers well over a week ago.

But the puzzling thing is this: if it has not been updated with the dns server people use, it would be pointed to my other server, which has the old version of the site. But they don't get the other site, they get nothing.

So why would the domain be resolving to the correct place for only half the users, and not at all the other half?

I'm using Interworx, I have 2 ips that the server uses. Metrics.cc is on the first ip. The nameservers point to the first and second ip. Could it be people are resolving the second IP? But that shouldn't make a difference because the ips are pointing to the same server.

    Any ideas?

I got nothing from Kentucky, USA.

Where the heck do the dns zones orginate for a cc domain/

If the ns are set correctly, dns failure is the only reason I can think of.

I can see the nameservers as ns1.sparta.cn and ns2.sparta.cn; but these names don't resolve out to any ips.
So when the request goes out to find the nameserver to get the record it is dying.

I see the same thing as hoodvs. According to WHOIS, your registrar has ns1.sparta.cn and ns2.sparta.cn as your authoritative name servers, BUT neither of these resolve so lookups of your domain on these name servers will fail. It may have been working for some people and not others for a while because the record was cached at some name servers, but the way things are currently configured they look to me like they will begin to stop working everywhere for everyone as cached entries expire. You will need to update your registrar to have the correct name servers for metrics.cc. If these name servers will be in the metrics.cc domain (ie ns1.metrics.cc) you will need to make sure you also have "glue records" at your registrar that contain the ip addresses of your name servers as this will be a circular dependency.

    I hope this helps!

If this is a vps or dedi and those are your private NS you will need to "register" them with your registar. All that does is say ns.thisdomain*com is located on IP #.
