Hey all, I have a domain on yahoo that I dont want on yahoo. (want it on godaddy or domain.com) is there a way to transfer it over? I tried and couldnt find a way. thanks!! ~Metalic
I found this guide online: http://www.computerchitchat.com/index.php/2008/how-to-transfer-a-domain-from-yahoo-to-godaddy/
In your domain control panel you need to unlock the domain, once unlock there should be a place to get your EPP code. Go to the registrar and theres usually a transfer link, enter your domain name and the EPP code. Then pay for the transfer fee and your domain should be transfered after a couple days.
i have try in namecheap.com and name.com all thing that you need is secret number Than send email to support they will guide you anyway... 2x24 thats the term ... and your domain must be 1 month before expired. Hope it will be help Regards.
Just go to Godaddy.com and in the homepage you will find the option of the transfer i just transfer one 5 days ago and i will transfer one today Hessein
The MAIN KEY to success is to make sure the yahoo domain is UNLOCKED. Unlocking the domain simply take yahoo's contact into off the whois record and shows your info instead. Godaddy, dreamhost and other hosting companies send a validation code to the email(your) listed in whois for the yahoo domain. You will need to wait long enough to verify that your email address changed in the whois record before attempting the transfer. Yahoo will not forward any requests if it is sent to the melborne location. I found this out the hard way and lost 20 buck in the process.
just a tip for the future- DONT EVER USE YAHOO AS A REGISTRAR - they are notorious at dragging it out when you are transferring a domain away from them and make it very difficult.

Yahoo's new domain charges is about 33$ per year . I hope they are going to loose a big amount in domain business..
Godaddy's own info regarding transfers from Yahoo to Godaddy: https://products.secureserver.net/guides/transfer_domain_yahoo.pdf It's easy and Yahoo does not suck anymore money from your wallet on the way out the door. Just pay Godaddy for a one year minimum registration on the transferred domain...
I had a whole bunch of sites that I registered with yahoo originally at $5 a site, but they raised their prices to $35 a year. It is pretty easy to transfer them. The only trick is to unlock the domain in the control panel first. Then you are set. Here is yahoo's guide: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/domains/accountmanagement/accountmanagement-24.html Yahoo didn't charge. I transferred to namecheap, and they only charged the regular domain price, and the extended the time of the registration. In other words I didn't loose any of my registration time in the transfer. Good luck.
