Is it legal for a registrar to charge a fee to transfer a domain I own to another registrar (my own account)?

I'm not talking $10 here, but £50 (about $75) per domain. wtf!?

Do you mean transfer out of them, or transfer to them?

Yeah, it sucks why some registrars do this. Dunno about its legality, but if it were in their TOS and you agreed to it when you regged the domain with them, I don't think there's anything that can be done.

I didn't agree to it when I reg'd the domain. They changed their TOS and the only way to get access to my account was to agree. F***ers!

I still wonder about the legality of imposing such an extortionate fee to transfer my property.

No way. They suck big time. I got my fingers burned with them before.
