Embee just know it's black hat techniques like this that can get you into trouble. It's a little beyond black hat, but with that close of a domain name since it's one letter off is kind of infringement (talked to my dads in house lawyers). They said it's a little too far. They could see a a site that had the same spelling with "fan" site and a good privacy policy, but not this since it looks like your trying to steal the domain name.

White hat would be a review site with it's own name
Black hat would be a one word like cheesefan or factoryfan site
I was a little wrong from what they discussed with me. They couldn't seem to grasp my point like the rest of you guys on this one. It's a little over the top from what they told me. My bad. I have heard so many explainations from them over the past couple years and sometimes I get it wrong. I don't do anything illegal for the most part, so I get it wrong at times.

Talk to a lawyer and see where you stand legally. Each country has different laws and such.

Anytime you get sued, you lose.

As for the rest your your mush, it may be fun to ramble on but you seem to have no clue what you are talking about.

So let me ask you what are the rules. Is iphonereviews.com or comparesansa.com or ebayspam.com (not real domains, only example) considered infringement? I ask you because you are a attorney.

What I understand from domains is that it works like it's the name of the business. It transfers over into real life which the lawyers explained to me. It's like using a real life name of a company to sell their products.

You can get away with iphonereviews if your site is something totally different. They may have a case or they may not. You can't sell apple products on a name like that and you'd have to make it clear that you were IPH on E-Reviews or something like that. That's just a little sketchy though to have something weird like that, so you might find yourself in court trying to prove your different.

Copyright happens sometimes by mistake. The only thing you can always share without getting into trouble is "ideas". Anyone can sue for anything even if it's like www.coffeeshop.com vs www.techcrunch.com. It may or may not happen in that situation and thats a bit strange to see happen.

I would suggest not taking out peoples domain names and trying to use their work, but use your own. You can get pretty rich easily online after a while. It takes critiquing over a certain amount of time.
