Hi all, I promoted a top brand hotel site. Mainly our business area is US & Canada. But we provide hotels bookings of all top destinations at worldwide! So, please suggest me : 1. If we do link building for our site, then which TLD's (.com, .co.uk, .net, .biz, .travel, .org) sites is important for me? 2. If we get some link from .co.uk sites for our "Hotels in London - destination page", then it's usefull for us or not? My main concern is, as I said above we are US based travel company, So if I try to get some link from ccTLD ( .co.uk, .de, .in, .com.au ) then it's give some weight of our site or not? Thanks in Advance!
if you have US based company and your target audience is in the US, then you would get links form .com .net .info .org etc. basicly any generic TLDs but no regional TLDs like co.uk. if you however have visitors in any other parts of the world, then you can get links form that region. say if you have UK traffic, then getting links form UK sites will help you get rank higher in the UK. you can always do a little bit of mix which will make your link building look natural
As long as the links are on-topic, don't worry about sticking to (or away from) a certain extension. Obviously, diversity is key.
geographic tlds play a small part in geo-targeting, likewise getting backlinks from geographic tlds. If you want UK traffic and to do better in google.co.uk then it does help to get links from .co.uk sites (However, for a site/page about Hotels in London, your target audience is largely outside the UK, surely)
