Hello I'm planing to buy a .in domain for my forum. But the catch is , the .org (abc-bsd.org) domain is very much established. Also , no .com .net .info domain is available . This domain is not my primary domain.I'm planning to develop small "forums" on this domain, get some traffic and then sell it off. Also, Will my domain be visible on Google when searched , as it is.in domain ? And the original (.org ) domain has a hyphen (-) in between.Which domain should be prefered (hyphen or without hyphen) ? Should I go for it ,as it just costs 5$ ? What do you suggest? Thank You
I always suggest .com domains. If you can, choose one .com domain that is available. And, if you can, also, register the other extensions (.net, .org, etc...). Just my 2 cents.
Is the other site on .org also a forum? If it indeed is, it would be very tough for you to differentiate your forum from the existing one and make visitors come to your forum and not go to the established forum! Regards, RightMan
.com is far and away your best choice and probably always will be. Is there a specific reason you are looking at the .in domain instead.
Thank You for your replies There is no .com .org avaliable As I said earlier, this is not my main forum.I'll sell the domain after getting few traffic. The .org has a hyphen in between and has alexa rank below 2000. I just want to sell the domain with some traffic attached to it.Will I get good price for it but ?
i am by no means an expert on flipping websites but it would seem to me that a .in domain would have a definite negative impact on the potential selling price. Just my two cents worth. Mike Tansey
