Domain, subdomain, etc

I have a question about trademark and maybe some of you have some experience with it.

As we all know, using a domain such as great-amazon-stuff.com would be copyright/trademark infringement, if you were selling Amazon products, etc.

    What about the following:

http://example.com/amazon/products.html - I'm quite sure this is not illegal.

    or

    Subdomain - http://great.amazon.example.com - I'm not sure about this.

jewsforjesus sued google over jewsforjesus.blogspot.com. The case didn't make it to court because the owner turned over the blog to jewsforjesus.

Many times a deep pocket trademark holder will sue if the "think" it is infringement - forcing the other party to spend tens of thousands of dollars to prove it isn't.
