    Ok,

I have a website, making backlinks for it. I have two things here on my website, A domain with all the info and a forum with sub domain.

My most of the traffic and ranking on Google is of my Forums. So If I am making backlinks for my DOMAIN, wil lthat effect the sUB DOMAIN also? Or, if my DOMAIN gets good ranking, will it effect the forums if I change it to a folder like abc.com/forum?

If you change the forum to a folder, yes that will effect your ranking. If it's a subdomain, it's treatred as a seperete domain in google.

hmm.. no what I mean is, like my site abc.com is having great ranking. and theres a folder /ama, that folder would also be RANKED WELL or not?

Or we can say here, For a Keyword ABC, my domain xyz.com is on first page and some script in /ama folder is also having title ABC or is targetted for keyword ABC, that content of that folder would also rank well or its just domain?

It will rank well because it is part of the site. Even if it's after ten / it will still rank well

It will only rank if it's linked directly from you domain or any inner pages thats linked from the domain it self, so it's all based on your inner structure.
No matter if it's a subdomain, folder or page it's all based on the linking structure of your website.

Does this mean that if you use a free host and a free subdomain provided by the host your ranking will be based on the rank this host has?

The linking structure of your website is important.

I have a website (see my signature) selling digital products. Despite having less than 20 incoming non-thematic links, the site is ranked by Google among the top 20 for "digital products" and among the top 30 for "cheap ebooks" and "cheap computer software". Those are highly competitive keywords.

The trick is not to have "home" link to the homepage on the webpages since I'm not selling houses. I use "digital products", "cheap ebooks", "cheap computer software", etc.

Please visit it to see its linking structure.

If you have link to the forum from the domain then it will have positive affect on forum ranking. And if you have forum in a folder instead of subdomain, then that will have more positive affect. Google treat subdomains as a separate entity.

oook!! I have seen many directories who says that ONLY root domain is entitled to be submitted and not the Sub Domains, so what should I do?
