Domain Speculation in a brand new industry

I'm a newb with buying and selling domains so I need some advice.

I noticed a new industry popping up that might be a big success in a few years. My plan is to invest in tons of domains relating to this industry and hopefully sell them to companies looking to grab a good domain name once they see this industry is profitable.

My understanding is that as long as I register the domains before anyone has a trademark on them I'm in the clear. Is this true? It would really suck if big companies can just buy trademarks after I have registered the domains and just take them away from me.

Also any tools/tips to use to find more variations of the domains that might be in demand? For example if the industry is "stock picking" I would get

    topstockpicks
    beststockpicks
    stockpickingguide
    etc...

    Thanks

If you purchased the domain before any company trademarked the name, you're in the clear.

I've got a program that will add prefixes and suffixes to a particular name and find all names that are currently available. Kind of simple really, but I have gotten some good names with it. Pm me if interested.
