I posted a similar question in general business a few hours back but realised that this forum would probably be better. When creating brand new sites to sell I see a number of people selling them (both here and on sitepoint) are offering the entire site well within the 60 day limit I thought you had to wait before transferring the domain. How is that they are able to do this? i.e. how can I buy a new domain, create the site and sell it within a few days rather than having to wait 60? In addition - anyone know any good free site flipping guides? And last question (for now). how easy is it to 'push' the site to the buyer? Thanks in advance Nick
Hmm I think it depends on where your domain is registered. On name.com, you can transfer your domain anytime.. I don't know about your register though, sorry. Good luck with flipping your site, i dont know any free ones, but a good one can be found here: flippersarea.com Have a good day
You only have to wait 60 days if you are transferring the domain to a different registrar. There is no 60 day limit to transfer the domain from one account to another within the same registrar (ie: you both have GoDaddy accounts).
Tobycoke is correct - when you are selling these sites with domain and before the 60 days, insist the buyer have an account with your registrar, and that registrar allows a free push/transfer into another account. This way you can get around the 60 day transfer ban and the buyer gets their stuff right away! Just make sure you register your domains at a place that allows a free push/transfer. GoDaddy is one.
